Spring 2008 ESE Courses

The IEEE student group's mission is to provide interested students with electrical and computer engineering resources outside of the classroom, including information about joining the national IEEE organization. We also serve to communicate electrical engineering students' concerns to the faculty. Our largest project each year is our series of workshops on the design and implementation of sumo battling robots.

Fall 2006

In Fall of 2005, we undertook a large a engineering project that brought together students and faculty from many departments. This project, dubbed the Vertigo Dance Floor (VDF), was based upon work done by a group of MIT students earlier that year.

The floor debuted at Vertigo, the All-school Dance party / Rave hosted by WU Encouncil on November 12, 2005. Since then, it has appeared at Dance Marathon, Chaminade Highschool, various fraternity parties, Vertigo 2006, and CPC Happy Hour. Pictures from Vertigo 2006 are available here.

IEEE invites you to make your own animations for the dance floor. With its upcoming appearance at EnFormal on April 6, 2007, students will have the opportunity to see their animation in use!
